Senior Prom

Clear Lake High School Senior Prom 2009
San Luis Convention Center
5222 Seawall Blvd., Galveston, TX 77551
Saturday, April 25, 2009
8:00 PM - 12:00 AM (doors close at 10:30 pm)
Bring:  Ticket, ID  (ID for guests, too) and camera
Higgins Photography will be there.  Bring money if you do that.
A food buffet is provided!
 
Ticket information

· Tickets are on sale at lunchtime April 20 - April 24    (No tickets will be sold at the door.)

· Individual tickets are sold.

· Anyone getting a ticket must be clear of all fines before purchasing (transcript fees, library fines, book charges, etc.)

· $65 per person (No couple discount)

· At least one person in a pair must be a senior at Clear Lake High School.

· To get a ticket, you must be under 21 years of age.

· If paying by check, make the check payable to CLHS

 There are 2 flyers at the ticket table:
     - a yellow Higgins photographer handout
     - a white 8½x 11 white sheet with dance details
 
Open (yes, you are allowed) your tickets and take a look at the lovely invitation for a wonderful night!

SAVE the DATE - Tuesday, May 12 - Golf Tournament at Timber Creek Golf Club

 

Project Graduation 2009 is hosting a golf tournament.  There are ample volunteer opportunities: SUB COMMITTEES - Hole Sponsorships/Sponsors, Drinks/Concessions, Goody Bags, Breakfast, Parent Volunteers; DAY OF TOURNAMENT - Check In, Mulligan Sales, Other Sales, Closest to the Pin Observers, Longest Drive Observers and Tiger Hole Observers.  To volunteer and obtain entry forms for the Golf Tournament, please contact Helena Morris - mohel39@hotmail.com or (713) 449-6495. 

 

The next Golf Tournament planning meeting is on Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 PM at Sprinkles, by Star Cinema Grill on Nasa Parkway/I-45. 

 

Another way to obtain donations is through the Shining Opportunities form.  Please ask for donations on these tickets for those who don't want to sponsor a hole or play the tournament.  It is not specific to the Golf Tournament.  Just have the donors write their contact information on the back to receive a letter for tax purposes.  This money can be sent to Helena, or to the school or of course, at the general planning meeting on April 21.  It is not specific to the Golf Tournament.  Please contact Helena to obtain one of these forms - mohel39@hotmail.com.

 

Project Graduation is in need of parent volunteers.  We especially need: a) help securing donations for the event; b) help obtaining prizes for the students; c) volunteers and players for the upcoming golf tournament; and d) volunteers to help with check-in and check-out at the event.  Please help spread the word and forward to any Clear Lake High School organization or club email distribution lists you have access to. 
 
What is Project Graduation?  Project Graduation is an organization composed of parent volunteers, primarily parents of seniors, who organize and raise funds for a giant graduation celebration for all the seniors at Clear Lake High School on June 6.  Project Graduation's purpose is to provide a safe, drug and alcohol free all-night party for seniors immediately following graduation (free of charge).  It is attended by an overwhelming majority of CLHS graduating seniors.  This year Project Graduation will be at Main Event in Webster. The students will enjoy an endless night of entertainment! This wonderful celebration is financed by fundraisers and generous donations from community corporations and parents.  Parents of Juniors, you're next!  Learn how it goes this year to make it easier next year.

Monetary Donations to Project Graduation: If you are affiliated with a business that might like to make a monetary donation to Project Graduation, please let us know and we can contact them. Parents, if you have been thinking about donating, right now would be a wonderful time!  Just put your donation in an envelope marked - Project Graduation and give it to the CLHS receptionist, or mail to:

You will receive a letter that can be used for tax purposes. 

Prizes Needed for Project Graduation: Cindy Senger-Lewis is looking for items to use for prizes and also small items to put in goodie bags.  If you are affiliated with a business that might be able to donate coupons or items to go in the goodie bags, let her know.  If you or your business can donate larger items that could be used for prizes, Cindy wants to talk to you!  Contact Cindy at sengerlewis@earthlink.net.

Seniors - PG 2009 Needs Your Memories!

Seniors - Projection Graduation needs your pictures!  During the evening festivities, a DVD will be featured the entire evening, displaying pictures of our most recent graduates - the class of 2009.  However, the content is dependent entirely on those who submit their photos.  It is very easy to do.  Simply go here - http://www.sendmypicsnow.com/ - to upload your submissions.  This is a great way to have a scrapbook of your friends and fellow students without doing the work! 

 

2010 Senior Parents - Project Graduation Needs You Next  Year

Attention 2010 Senior parents:  It's our turn to learn about Project Graduation!  The 2009 Project Graduation committee will meet on Tuesday, April 21, 7:00 PM in the main campus commons.  It's important for us to learn as much as we can before next fall.  Please join me and  2 other junior parents at this meeting.  You are not obligated to be chairman, co-chairman, or any officer,  just show up and learn about a fun, safe environment for your child on graduation night.   Please let me know if you're interested in attending the meeting or helping next year.  Sandra Baldridge: Srbaldridge@aol.com.

2009 Summer School

Make plans now for 2009Summer School!  This year's Summer School sessions (for those entering grades 9 -12) will be held at Clear Creek High School.  There are two sessions, June 15 - July 2 and July 6 - 23.  Classes begin at  7:30 AM and end at 1:30 PM.  Classes are held Monday - Thursday of each week.  Courses are $150.00 each session; $75.00 for those on free or reduced lunch.  Payment is by cashier's check or money order only and is made payable to CCISD Summer School (no personal checks or cash accepted).  Pre-registration is during the entire month of April, 2009 at all intermediate and high school campuses.  Registration is on Saturday, May 30 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM and Saturday, June 13 from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM at Clear Creek High School (both days).  Go here - http://www2.ccisd.net/Libraries/NEWS/HS_SUMMER_SCHOOL_PROGRAM.sflb.ashx - for more details.  This year's Summer School sessions for intermediate students will be held at Westbrook Intermediate.  Pre-registration is at your home campus from March 25 - May 31, 2008.  The same fees and payment options listed above apply as well.  Registration begins June 1 at Westbrook Intermediate.  Please go here - http://www2.ccisd.net/Libraries/NEWS/INTERM_SUMMER_SCHOOL_PROGRAM_1st_Sess.sflb.ashx and here - http://www2.ccisd.net/Libraries/NEWS/INTERM_SUMMER_SCHOOL_PROGRAM_2nd_Sess.sflb.ashx for more detailed information.

Terrific Terrapins Annual Senior Tea

 

ATTENTION GRADUATING SENIORS FROM ARMAND BAYOU ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Congratulations seniors on all of your accomplishments and your approaching graduation from high school.  If you ever attended Armand Bayou Elementary School we would like to invite you back to celebrate your success and wish you well with your future plans.  Join us on Sunday, May 17, from 2:00-4:00 PM in the ABE Library for refreshments and to reminisce about the "good ol'e days" when you were a "Terrific Terrapin", with your friends and teachers from our school.   If you know any seniors from ABE, please help to spread the word to them as we would love to see all of you again.  Please RSVP to Melissa Gaston at 281-480-1151 or melissagaston@att.net by May 12 if you are attending, or if have any questions and need additional information.
