We invite you to be a part of the high school experience by joining a group – the CLHS PTSA. Not only will you be a member of our local organization but you will automatically become a part of the largest child advocacy group in the nation.
In 2007, the CLHS PTSA launched “Link up....with Lake”, an e-mail newsletter that delivered update news to every PTSA member on a weekly basis! Simply by joining our organization and providing us with your e-mail address, you will be “in the know” about the campus. Our membership team plans on attending as many grade level events as possible to provide an opportunity for you to join.
By joining our organization, the local portion of your dues ($5.00) will go to fund a variety of programs and services that help each of us be better parents. We are committed to educating adults by providing ways we can all learn more about topics our teens face today. Concerns such as alcohol & drug abuse awareness, healthy lifestyles, safe dating and college preparation are examples of topics we offer. In addition, this money allows us to publish the newsletter you are now reading, sponsor the Reflections and Environmental Awareness contests and host the CLHS PTSA Freshmen Mixer. Over the past few years, we have been able to allocate surplus funds to the campus in the four areas of core curriculum. This is quite an achievement for a high school PTSA!
Your students will benefit too. By joining the CLHS PTSA, they will earn a point for every year that they are a member through their junior year. If they choose to apply for a PTSA scholarship as a senior, those points will go towards their total evaluation score. More importantly, it’s a great addition to their college resume. In the past years, the CLHS PTSA has awarded up to fifteen (15) $500 college scholarships to graduating seniors.
If you have not had the opportunity yet to join, download and complete the form and either mail it to 2929 Bay Area Boulevard, Houston, TX 77058 or drop it by front office location of the main or the 9th grade campus. Dues are $8.00 per person.
